Floors That Flow

Floors That Flow

Floors in a house are crucial to create that sense of cohesion that buyers identify with and appreciate. Today, there are such a wide variety of floor finishes available – explore them.

Great looking flooring that “flows” throughout the house affords a feeling of continuity and reliability that presents long time value to buyers. A mishmash of different flooring in each room will confuse buyers and make the rooms appear smaller. No one wants to move into a home with stained or damaged floors. If you can’t replace flooring make sure it is spotlessly clean.

Kitchen, bathroom and laundry, as they are “wet” areas, will often need to be of different material to that of the other floors in the house. When selecting flooring for these areas make sure the colour and texture will blend with the other floors.

Carpet has its place to create a warm and cosy home. Polished floors are excellent; they are inviting and low-maintenance. Likewise ceramic and stone tiles can be used to great effect. If on a budget, use high-quality vinyl tiles that mimic their more expensive counterparts. Laminate has come a long way in the last 6 or so years. It`s almost impossible to pick a floating laminate floor from real timber and the price difference is considerable.
